Fake Tan Reviews

Fake tanning is also known as spray tanning, self tanning, UV-free tanning or sunless tanning. It is the application of chemicals to the skin to produce a colour similar to that of a sun tan. Fake tan reviews highlight a popularity that started during the 1960’s when it was known to health system authorities that exposure to the harmful rays of the sun, sunbathing, use of sun beds or tanning beds would likely be risks for incidence of skin cancer. As the years went by, technology and innovation paved way to the creation of other sunless tanning products. Fake tans may look classy, and have sweet scent that people love.

What to use during fake tanning?

There are several ways to achieve a fake tan, and one of this is the use of tanning lotions. Types of fake tan reviews cover bronzers, accelerators, and tingling lotions. Bronzers are powders and moisturizers that if applied, it creates an instant tan that can easily be removed with soap and water. More like make-up, these products stain the skin and are easily removed if washed. Accelerators are pills or lotions containing tyrosine, an amino acid that stimulates melanin formation thus speeding the tanning process. However, it is not yet scientifically proven. Tingling lotions are tanning lotion accelerators and maximizers used indoor which produces a tingling sensation when they are applied. The tingling factor causes an increase in the blood flow to the upper skin layers thereby increasing oxygenation in the skin. The tingling sensation varies from mild to strong depending on skin types.

Lotions that contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA) are considered to be the most effective sunless tanning agents. DHA is a kind of sugar that produces a chemical reaction with the amino acids on the stratum corneum of the epidermis known as the Maillard reaction, a kind of non-enzymatic browning. This enables you to have a natural –like tan that will last at around 3-10 days. The good thing is that it does require sun exposure and does not involve skin pigmentation.

Other products use erythulose with DHA. Erythrulose is a natural-based keto-sugar that reacts with the amino acids in the keratin protein on the outer or dead surface layer of the skin. It does not penetrate the skin and chemical reaction produces a colour change only on the epidermis, particularly on the stratum corneum (dead part of the skin). Fake tan reviews have shown that it produces a longer lasting tan. Individuals with sensitive skin may have allergic reactions with this product. Contact dermatitis may occur so first time users are advised to do their own fake tan review via a skin test by applying it to a small area of the skin and wait within the next 24 hours before applying it all over the skin.

Other spray tan applications are available at salons and spas. A hand held sprayer or sunless UV-Free spray booth is used. An enclosed booth similar to a shower stall sprays the sunless tanning solution over the entire body.
